Opening with a rather hilarious send-off to an annoying social media star who decides to spend the night in the woods where a mythical creature hangs out, The Wendigo knows its audience well. Operating as a found footage film, director Jake Robinson takes audiences on a wild ride through the dark woods of North Carolina in this chilling cryptoid feature film.
But the opening 10-minutes - including the comments from the “Logan Does It All” subscribers - is pretty clever as its star runs into some unexpected trouble. We are both amused and chilled as he wanders off into the dense night in the search for this mythical creature. It’s not like this beast doesn’t know he’s coming either; after screaming out the Wendigo’s name loudly, he’s definitely asking for what happens to him.
But, truth be told, Logan is definitely scared. He’s out of his element here and it shows. From the viewer’s comments to his own reactions, the opening 10-mins is a fun way to kick off the movie as his stream goes viral and his mysterious disappearance becomes the stuff of legend.

With interesting camera angles and a fun vibe which suddenly turns chilling, The Wendigo is a balancing act done right as the deeper his “friends” go into the woods, the stranger the events become. With solid gore effects and a cool creature design, The Wendigo is definitely worth your time.
