If stripteases in mining gear, hearts boiling alongside hot dogs, or dead women tumbling around in dryers aren’t your cup of tea then, well, I do believe there might be something wrong with you. My Bloody Valentine, being made in the wake of John Carpenter's Halloween EXPLOSION, is Canuxploitation at its finest and its furious and this February the damn thing has life again thanks to Shout Factory.
That’s right, Shout Factory proudly presents My Bloody Valentine on 4K Ultra HD thanks to this Limited SteelBook Edition. The release is in sparkling 4K and has both the Unrated and the Theatrical Version of the film. It is a difference of about 8 minutes and the uncut scenes are marvelously handled, edited back into the film flawlessly. Slipcovered and full of informative special features, the film looks brand new all over again!
Directed by George Mihalka and written by John Beaird, My Bloody Valentine has an interesting history thanks to the heavy hand of US censors. Deemed too bloody and far too obscene, the film has been released in many different versions and formats. Unfortunately, not many people have seen the film as its filmmakers originally intended. Until now!
From the film’s dark beginning down in the mines to its bloody end, My Bloody Valentine absolutely delivers the gory goods as one town is rocked and shocked by a killer in mining gear who really hates flowers, jewelry, and chocolates. And now, thanks to this Collector's Edition, the real version can be seen.
Long rumored to exist and delayed near the point of exhaustion (for its many, many fans), the uncensored version of My Bloody Valentine is finally upon us. Scream Factory, giving fans of this Canadian slasher both the theatrical and the uncut version in glorious 4K, has done it again. Truthfully, the film FINALLY feels complete and, ultimately, makes for a much better viewing. For cult cinema enthusiasts like myself, the results - thanks to Scream Factory’s attention to details - are a glorious AND bloody good time.
My Bloody Valentine is a twisting 20-year tale about a valentine’s day massacre thanks to unchecked methane levels that keep partygoers on their tippy-toes with nervous anticipation. And it is all thanks to Mayor Hanniger (Larry Reynolds) who, after listening to the excited teenagers in the town, decides to reinstate the Valentine’s Day Dance. I mean, the crazed cannibal is in an asylum after all. They should be safe, right? RIGHT.
Local teen sweethearts T.J. and Sarah, along with their friend Axel, are among the excited high schoolers that are ready for the dance AND for the boxes of candy. The streamers! The sparkles! The neon lights on the dance floor! YES. But, when a REAL HEART arrives with a very strange warning attached to it, the town and those excited teenagers are shushed into silence. Someone is going to lose their heart . . . all over again!
Filmed in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia and starring Paul Kelman, Lori Hallier, Neil Affleck, Cynthia Dale, Don Francks, Keith Knight, and Peter Cowper as Harry Warden/The Miner, My Bloody Valentine is a holiday-centered slasher that makes the absolute perfect gift for Valentine’s Day. Say 'I Love You' with this movie, now back in circulation with a brand-new 4K sheen.
Swinging away like there is no tomorrow (and for some, there isn’t), The Miner is back!

On Valentine's Day, someone always loses their heart. Twenty years ago, this small town lost more than that. When supervisors abandoned their posts to attend the town's annual holiday dance, a tragedy claimed the lives of five miners. The sole survivor, Harry Warden, was institutionalized, but returned for a vengeful massacre on the disaster's first anniversary. Nineteen years later, the town is gearing up for another Valentine's Day party. Teen sweethearts T.J. and Sarah, along with their friend Axel, are among the excited partygoers. But when a box of candy containing an eerie warning and blood-soaked heart arrives, the townsfolk realize that romance is as good as dead. And so are they
