They Crawl Beneath

Something has been unleashed upon the unsuspecting world! And its bite is beyond deadly!

With subterranean horror at its heart, They Crawl Beneath surfaces with a fun throwback horror vibe which just oozes with love for the 1950s. It opens with an unsettling peek at the creature which lurks at its center and then shakes the foundations of all its characters with an earthquake, rattling even the audience. All of this is to establish that our lead character Danny (Joseph Almani), a down-on-his-luck cop, doesn’t just have his issues, he has subscriptions to the drama in his personal life.

And all he feels like doing is working on his Uncle Bill’s antique car. He wants to drown out the distractions and staying on his Uncle’s remote farm just might be the way to get at that. That earthquake and its aftershocks have other plans, though, trapping him under the car.

But he’s not alone.

There is a fearsome creature - with toxic venom - surfacing from within the depths beside him. That’s right, being pinned beneath the car is only the beginning of the nightmare fuel he’s going to start chugging. The struggle is visceral and full of a hell of a lot of pain as he tries to figure out just how to get free from the car with only 3% of his cell phone battery available.

Just when he thinks the claustrophobic nightmare can’t get any worse, something truly horrifying emerges from the fissures in the ground, forcing Danny to engage in a brutal fight for his life—and his sanity. They Crawl Beneath

With a sharp set-up, mixing Gremlins situations with Tremors-like swagger, They Crawl Beneath might wear its influences on its sleeve, but it definitely brings the noise that any Hound of Horror will start howling at when the quakes unleash the terror we’ve all been waiting for. Tense and full of some interesting POV shots, this creature feature doesn’t disappoint, especially when the fissures release what they’ve kept hidden for far too long.

Low in budget but high in drama, They Crawl Beneath is loaded with some cool creature feature effects, which ultimately make this journey with a disaster-thriller as its backdrop pretty damn fun.

Directed by Dale Fabrigar (D-Railed, Lonely Boy), the nail-biting thriller stars Michael Pare (The Lincoln Lawyer), Joseph Almani (Law of Attraction), Arthur Roberts (Not of This Earth), Merrick McCartha (Twisted Twin), Karlee Eldridge (House of Bodies), Elena Sahagun (Tremors 3: Back to Perfection) and Natalia Bilbao (No Man’s Law). The film had its world premiere at the Texas Frightmare Festival and will also be screening at the Horror Hotel Film Fest and the Halloween Horror Picture Show.

They Crawl Beneath debuts on digital, Blu-ray and DVD October 4 from Well Go USA Entertainment.
