The Sacrifice Game

Holy twisting nightmare scenarios, Batman!  You can either let the terror in or let it out!!!!  Choose wisely.

The Sacrifice Game doesn’t just announce its arrival.  It makes a declarative statement . . . with guitars.  This film, from beginning to end, is a riot and a half.  Full of blood and neon and all sorts of creepy and cult-like fun, this slasher doesn’t disappoint as a series of killings gets closer and closer to The Blackvale School for Girls.

"pure perfection when it comes to getting its vibe right"

With its atmospheric lens set to 1971, The Sacrifice Game concerns itself with the Christmas Killers.  Call it tabloid trash; call it whatever you will, but Satanic Panic has set in and all the girls are just dying to go home.  Except students Samantha (Madison Baines) and Clara (Georgia Acken) can’t leave.  As the killing spree gets closer and closer to them, the girls, sharing bits of their own lives and the reasons for being trapped in the school over the break, begin a friendship based on fear.

And only the strong will survive.

Demented and tense, you've not seen anything like the family dinner included in this creepy flick.  These killers know just what they are about and, with unblinking eyes, they bring more than just a few carvings to this Christmas feast. The Sacrifice Game

Starring Mena Massoud, Olivia Scott Welch, Gus Kenworthy, Derek Johns, Laurent Pitre, and Chloë Levine, The Sacrifice Game is pure perfection when it comes to getting its vibe right.  It is both elegant and surreal as the cult gets closer and closer to the school.  In fact, everything is on-point thanks to the work of cinematographer Alexandre Bussière, who brings 1971 to life with solid atmospheric thrills and great lighting.

The Blackvale School for Girls comes alive and it's full of tension and fear, a perfect stomping ground for the gang of cult killers.  And, when they arrive, Hell itself will pay dearly.  With sharp edits from Arthur Tarnowski and a solid score from Mario Sévigny, all of this narrative’s bases are covered as this steely-eyed game comes to life with forbidden books, a deadly game of hide and seek, and a gang of four killers not before seen on the screen.

The Sacrifice Game arrives just in time for Christmas from Shudder.  The film premieres on December 8th and, trust me, it doesn’t disappoint as one cult prays for deliverance . . . from the girls!
