The Marilyn Monroe Death Bed Photo
Below is the well-known police investigatory forensics photo showing Marilyn Monroe deceased on her bed. A policeman, to theft of the photo, is pointing to an empty Nembutal bottle on Marilyn's night stand, next to where she was found dead.
After the autopsy by L.A. County Coroner Dr. Thomas Noguchi, Marilyn's body was released to the family. But since her mother was institutionalized and unable to accept the remains, former husband and general good guy Joe DiMaggio stepped up, claimed her body and arranged a small funeral service. She was laid to rest in L.A.'s Westwood Memorial Park on August 8, 1962.
DiMaggio would deliver flowers (a bouquet of roses) to Marilyn's grave 3 times a week for the next twenty years. What a guy!
