“I’ve got some news which is going to blow your cocks off.”
Members Club is a solid gold nugget of pure horror comedy. Need I say more?
Opening with a hysterical gaffe when Wet Dreams, a middle-aged male stripper group, performs at a 12-year-old girl’s birthday party (whom they mistakenly thought was turning 21), Members Club puts horror in its place with its own particular brand of off-the-wall comedy. The film is absolutely bonkers complete with a murderous 16th century witch who desperately wants to live again.
It’s an honest rip with dialogue that is a laugh-a-minute as these old farts take their teeth out and get ready to party! Armed with more than enough one-eyed wankers, these fellas are in for quite the shock when all their stripping dreams turn into nightmares thanks to one final job that they probably should have refused from the very beginning.
Mixing high levels of raunchy disgust with well-timed gags about aging, wrinkles, and strippers-turned-killing-machines, Members Club has originality in lock as these lads find themselves in an absolute balls-to-the-wall mental caper.
Written and Directed by Marc Coleman, the film stars a host of British talent including Dean Kilbey (ManFish, Boiling Point, Top Boy), Perry Benson (Love Honour and Obey, This is England, Benidorm), Barbara Smith (EastEnders, Call The Midwife, Casualty), Juliet Cowan (Culprits, Cuckoo, Motherland), Mark Monero (Sid and Nancy, Free Fire, Happy New Year Colin Burstead), Steve Oram (Sightseers, The World's End, Aaaaaaaah!), David Schaal (The Inbetweeners, EastEnders, Down Terrace), Alan Ford (Snatch, Cockneys vs Zombies, Toast of London), Liam Noble (Peep Show, ManFish, Bridgerton) as well as Peter Andre (Dragged Up Dirty, On The Other Foot) and matches the talent with practical effects which are absolutely to die for as the group hits rock bottom (no pun intended) and decides to disband before they can further embarrass themselves.
Except Alan, their leader, doesn’t want to quit just yet. Good thing, too, because these lads - who are dying to go out with a bang - are desperate for a good-paying gig which will put their names back on the map when it comes to aging male strippers.
They just don’t know that this gig is going to include a nasty-looking witch who wants nothing more than to wear their skin as hers!
