From Film Valor and directors Jamison M. LoCascio and Adam Ambrosio comes HOW DARK THEY PREY arriving on Amazon Prime Video and Watch Movies Now on September 15. This horror anthology features four tales of horror and starts out with a couple of shockers as dark shadows descend upon a satanic ritual. We see none of it, mind you, our view is but the staging of a dark moment.
But this is an anthology is all about the experience of terror.
After a POV shot of someone getting a weapon in a mechanics shop, we hear the screams of the woman being sacrificed; hear her being gutted; and then feel the presence of sheer evil as another presence announces itself and apparently attacks the one doing the sacrificing. It's an eerie beginning to be sure but it sets the stage for what’s to follow, especially the Encounter Nightly segment which blends comedy with moments of horror.
Jeff and Martha have seen something weird. And the two bozos, Trent UFO (Jeff Ronan) and Russ (Paul Pallotta), responsible for Encounter Nightly want to interview them, regardless if they believe them or not. What follows in their quest for the interview is a collection of rather uncomfortable moments as “eyewitnesses” ultimately confirm that they have no idea who Martha and Jeff are.
When the interview finally begins, the eeriness is palpable, leaving both Trent and Russ shaken. Martha doesn’t want to say much, and then her husband enters and all Hell breaks loose, changing the direction we thought we were going. Things get dark quick, especially the further we spiral into the madness sewn into these tales. Some are meditations on the nature of the evil and others are in your face with their brutality.
