Borley Rectory: The Awakening (2025)

Once again, we go back to the Borley Rectory this season of treason among the falling leaves.  And that’s not a bad thing either.  While there are a lot of crazy things happening in Borley Rectory: The Awakening, the pacing is designed to keep everyone on the edge of their seats as one family learns the truth behind the horror of their ancestral home.

The thing is, you should never disturb the dead and Filmmaker Steven M. Smith, who previously gave audiences The Ghosts of Borley Rectory and Sweeney Todd: Slice & Dice, returns to the well of horrors alongside co-writer Christopher Jolley and produces yet another spine-tingling take on the spirits which clamor about the Borley Rectory.

"yet another spine-tingling take on the spirits which clamor about the Borley Rectory"

Set in the 19th century, consider this a prequel of sorts as Harry Bull (Julian Glover, We Still Steal the Old Way, The Toll), his wife Constance (Patsy Kensit, Renegades, Lethal Weapon 2), their daughters Kitty (Jess Inchbald), Freda (Charlotte Luxford, The Haunted Hotel), Mabel (Lora Hristova, Unhinged), Caroline (Jenna N. Wilson, Island of the Dolls 2), and son Henry (Corneille Dion Williams) the heir-apparent to the rectory, gather in the darkness to reassure themselves that there are no ghosts here.

They, of course, are dead wrong.  But what it is - and the reasons for the haunt - are pretty damn disturbing, forcing the family to fight back as they come to the edge of their own beliefs in the supernatural.

And, twelve years later, as the young Reverend Henry Bull and his sister Kitty take over the duties of the rectory, the truth is revealed.  And it is as unsettling as one can imagine.  Good thing the film doesn’t shy away from the haunts.Borley Rectory: The Awakening (2025)

Based on true events, the paranormal activity which occurs within the walls of the rectory are of the demonic kind and is related to just what one violent priest, the Reverend Shaw (Simon Phillips, Butchers) did to a nun, Marie (Samantha Anderson. Best Geezer), who is still spiritually trapped to those nightmarish events.  With letters uncovered, the hauntings take root and soon things get quickly out of hand for the family and they turn to a family friend to assist them with the activity.

With a number of unsettling haunts and a charged atmosphere in the mix, Borley Rectory: The Awakening offers fans of old school horror plenty of scares as ghostly apparitions take aim at scaring off anyone who dares enter its premises.

Greenway Entertainment is proud to announce the trailer and release date for the highly anticipated supernatural thriller, Borley Rectory: The Awakening is now available for digital download in the USA, and will be available in the UK on DVD and digital on the 13th October.
