Popular DC Comics superhero Green Lantern gets his first go in a feature movie this summer when Warner Bros will release director Martin Campbell's Green Lantern.
Actor Ryan Reynolds will don the green suit (well, kind of) and pledge to fight evil in a computer generated suit that promises to be like nothing we've ever seen in a superhero movie to this point. Take a look at the footage below and you'll see that they aren't kidding. There would be no way of getting such a skin-hugging and muscle toning look from a pair of lycra tights. Plus, we need a mask that comes and goes as needed to conceal identity.
The four minutes of footage comes to us via iTunes from a spot that was released at Wonder Con this past weekend where Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were on hand to show off ten minutes of brand spanking new Green Lantern footage. You can watch it below and judge for yourself whether you agree with the Wonder Con crowds that this is a huge improvement over the film's earlier trailer.
Green Lantern Synopsis: A test pilot is granted a mystical green ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers, as well as membership into an intergalactic squadron tasked with keeping peace within the universe.
Green Lantern is slated to hit theaters in 2D and 3D on June 17, 2011.
