Get ready to unleash the absurdity — the official trailer for AJ Goes to the Dog Park is here!
Written and directed by Toby Jones (Regular Show, OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes!), this offbeat, heartfelt comedy stars AJ Thompson as AJ, an unshakably average guy whose idea of paradise is cinnamon toast and walks with his chihuahuas, Diddy and Biff.
Life in Fargo, North Dakota is simple – until it isn’t. When the local mayor transforms AJ’s cherished dog park into a soul-sucking “blog park,” corporate drones replace wagging tails, and AJ’s peaceful world is thrown into chaos.
What follows is a bizarre, laugh-out-loud odyssey of rebellion and rediscovery, as AJ battles to restore the simple joys of life. Alongside a cast of eccentric characters played by Greg Carlson, Danny Davy, and Morgan Hoyt Davyy, AJ fights bureaucracy, nature, and his own resistance to change.
Toby Jones brings his signature cartoon logic and visual gags to the big screen in this surreal, no-budget fable that’s both a love letter to the underdog and a celebration of small-town weirdness.
Doppelgänger Releasing will bring AJ Goes to the Dog Park to theaters starting July 25, with a special multi-city Midwest roadshow to follow. The film was an official selection at Fantastic Fest 2024 and is already wagging tails with fans of indie comedy.
Watch the trailer now and get ready to bark back at blandness.
