“Better than roadkill any day of the week!”
If you miss the fun-loving and free-wheeling spirit of some good ol’ 1980s horror flicks, then Hayride to Hell - starring two iconic figures in the horror genre, Bill Moseley and Kane Hodder, - is definitely your ticket to ride this Halloween. The film is demented and darkly funny, nailing down its tongue-in-cheek tone with finality.
And it all has to do with a pissed-off farmer who doesn’t want corrupt leaders messing about on his land!
Farmer Sam (Bill Moseley) doesn’t know just how big of a hole he’s in with the bank. Hell, after the opening 10-minutes or so of Hayride to Hell, it seems everyone in this community has it in for the poor farmer. But Sam doesn’t let it get him down . . . at least for very long. There are people to kill . . .
. . . and good (I mean BLOODY!!) times to be had.
Directed by Dan Lantz and written by Kristina Chadwick and Robert Lange, Hayride to Hell is as much fun as it sounds as revenge becomes a part of Farmer Sam’s crops this fall. It’s fast-moving, well-acted, and completely unhinged (especially when it comes to the scenes of revenge) as one guy - who has been pushed too far - sets about designing his new and improved Hayride to Hell for everyone who has pissed him off this year.
Set on the Coxe Family Farm in rural Willis County, Farmer Sam (Moseley in yet another great performance) exacts his bloody revenge on unscrupulous local town-folk, including Sheriff Jubel (Kane Hodder), who menace him and attempt to steal the farm that has been in his family for 200 years.
Starring Graham Wolfe, Mario Mosley, Allyson Malandra, Denise Parella McDonald, Jared Michael Delaney, Shelby Hightower, Melanie Martyn, Brooke Stacy Mills, Aaron Dalla Villa and Cedric “Budge” Casimiro, Hayride to Hell brings a new meaning to ORGANIC FARMING and it is as demented as it sounds, making some of those classics from the 1980’s (Motel Hell) look like, pun intended, Child’s Play shenanigans.
This is the feel-good movie of the Halloween season!
