The Harrisville Haunting: The Real Conjuring House

The Harrisville Haunting: The Real Conjuring House begins with a warning.  Ominous music plays and, as footsteps are heard pounding on hardwood floors, we clearly see why.  Something has gone amuck in the paranormal investigation that four individuals - introduced at a later time - are participating in.  The location?  Why the Conjuring house, of course.  That’s right, the former Arnold estate, a 200-year-old farmhouse, is once again the scene of a NEW investigation.

"The 2-day investigation does not disappoint.  These four paranormal investigators and YouTubers document some of the wildest and most authentic footage to come from out of the former Arnold family farmhouse"

Matt Benton, who directs The Harrisville Haunting, has been investigating the paranormal for just over a decade.  His interest, as explained in the beginning of the movie, began when he was 16 when a piece of brick was thrown during a paranormal investigation at The Old Washoe Club and, since then, has become an obsession of his, giving birth to countless paranormal investigations all across the country and presenting them on his YouTube Channel, Devil’s Hour Productions.

And he’s always on the hunt for the NEXT LEVEL investigation, which is why The Harrisville Farmhouse - which is now owned by Cory and Jennifer Heinzen, who bought the historic farmhouse in Harrisville, RI, in June 2019 - is on his list of places to investigate.  The Harrisville Haunting is the result of a 2-day investigation. The Harrisville Haunting: The Real Conjuring House

Opening with a prologue of sorts, paranormal investigator Matt Benton gives audiences a brief rundown of his history as an investigator and includes the paranormal event which got him ghost hunting way back in 2011.  Familiar faces in the paranormal community are introduced: Joe Vitale, Bill Cook, and Eric Conner as they will be the investigators on the assignment,

BUT . . .

. . . Benton edits the movie in a way that allows for the farmhouse’s history to speak for itself, giving a SOLID look at the farmhouse’s twisted past thanks to key interviews with eyewitnesses from the Perron family and deep dives into other paranormal investigations and the collected evidence of a continued and disturbing haunting there at the rural location, especially from investigator John Huntington.  This adds to the overall ambiance of the film before their investigation takes place.  Viewers are already ON EDGE, which plays nicely for what follows as the lights go out on Day One of their investigation and the cameras roll.

The 2-day investigation does not disappoint.  These four paranormal investigators and YouTubers document some of the wildest and most authentic footage to come from out of the former Arnold family farmhouse, built in 1736. From bizarre interference, voice catches, a rocking chair moving on its own, multiple instances of mimicry and beyond, their cameras manage to catch and confirm all the reports of its continued haunting.  I don’t want to spoil their findings, but the investigation is legitimately one of the best ones I’ve seen as everything - including the strangeness happening on camera 5 - they find only adds to the conviction of the hauntings happening here.
