Camping Trip

Shot during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic (but, really, is it over yet?), Camping Trip immediately defines the parameters of the public health concerns with random shots of what we all went through (and, in some parts of the world, are about to again) as LED signs and warnings flash across the screen. MASK UP! STAY 6 FEET APART! Already, a sense of verisimilitude is achieved but it’s the expanding sense of panic - as the danger grows and grows - that really seals in the horror in this film.

"A new voice in horror confidently emerges from the dark and demented-looking woods in Camping Trip"

Raw in its rollout, Camping Trip begins with a discussion of a $1500 fine for having a party during the pandemic as two couples group up outside a running car, gearing up for a camping trip after two months of lockdown. It sounds like a good idea, you know? But these good ideas often lead straight across bumpy roads to Hell.

Which is why Camping Trip is so successful with what it does, converting the joy of freedom into the crushing sense of dread. Is it original? No. However, you cannot deny the talent at work here, delivering a competent stab at a type of horror which feels like it could happen.

We have sped-up footage and electronic beats giving way to sheer terror as the sense of normalcy for these two couples gets shredded when they discover that, here in these woods, they are not alone. And it will FOREVER CHANGE their tight dynamic.Camping Trip

Unfortunately, what is with them doesn’t lend them a hand with their canoe; their campsite; or help with any of the items that they are carrying on their trek into the woods. No, these goons are far more nefarious as a drop off goes tits up and they decide to implicate the unsuspecting campers. What follows are tests of loyalty and survival as the pandemic becomes second to the threat these campers face.

Camping Trip stars Leo Zola (Leonardo Fuica), Caitlin Cameron, Hannah Forest Briand and Alex Gravenstein and is directed by Leonardo and Demian Fuica, who both make their English language feature-length directorial debuts. It is directed by The Fuica Brothers and features a twisted fate as two storylines come crashing together in a spray of unsettling on-screen violence and create one hell of a Camping Trip.

Fuica Film Pictures and 8Cube are delighted to share the shocking details in their upcoming Camping Trip, a low budget horror film with more surprises up its sleeve than a magician. The sinister thriller will be available on Digital Download in the USA & Canada (via Gravitas Ventures) on August 16.

A new voice in horror confidently emerges from the dark and demented-looking woods in Camping Trip thanks to the collective talents of Demian and Leonardo Fuica.
