It’s showtime!  They once delighted their audiences, now, they frighten them!

Reuniting 3 From Hell’s Bill Moseley and Bill Oberst, Jr. is always a good idea.  Putting dummies is their hands – or at least within reach – probably another good idea, too.  I mean, these dolls are damn creepy.  Perhaps it is said best in this this movie when one victim screams out, “I hate these fucking puppets.  They are nothing but weird and wood.”  Unfortunately, the two Bills don't have a lot to do in this new horror film from Midnight Releasing.

And, yes, this family of killer puppets is staying together for good.  Wisecracking and full of piss and vinegar, the ventriloquist dolls at the heart of Devil’s Junction: Handy Dandy’s Revenge definitely will leave a scar. 

Jeff Broadstreet (Night of the Living Dead 3D) directs a script by J.S Brinkley that sees one abandoned television studio in Detroit get an injection of a new life as one demented ventriloquist, Mr. Jolly (Oberst), gets another chance at entertaining an audience while Richard Crane (Moseley), his hostage, watches on. 

Thing is, this audience could be living or dead (and, trust me, it doesn’t matter to the dolls) as Stephen (Jake Red), Crane’s son, and his friends have snuck into the abandoned station and are now in the hands of all the demented puppets running wild.  One by one, the young adults break off from the group – you know, to have some private time – and they are caught, tortured, and then posed to take selfies by these wooden creatures. {googleads}

The dolls want to play.  And by “play” I mean that these toys want to kill.  It’s a blood sacrifice that they are after and, thanks to the sinister mason connections here, we get a script that might not be as convincing as it believe it is, but enough killer dolls to help carry the dead weight when the cast flails about unsure of this one’s intentions.

With solid puppet work and really sharp weapons, everything about Devil’s Junction is ready to do some carving.  Sure, some of the performances are a bit . . . wooden, pardon my pun, but there’s a lot of gory scenes of slicing and dicing that will get some Horror Hounds going.  We also get a bit of nudity, too, as one couple in this group of young adults can’t leave their hands off of each other. 

Highly animated and completely demented, the studio is full of these living dolls and that makes for a creepy time as the young adults – actors Cody Cameron, Arthur Marroquin, Danni Spring, Kyle Anderson and Katelynn Newberry – keep making shitty decisions (not like leaving the studio) and wind up prey for the toys to wreak havoc all over . . . and into.  Mr. Jolly and Handy Dandy have their eyes on these targets and, when it turns out that there are human servants for these toys (who eat hearts), there’s no safe place at all.

Who wants to play the pain game?!  Devil’s Junction: Handy Dandy’s Revenge is set for an On Demand and DVD release on November 5 from Midnight Releasing.

Synopsis: Returning to the abandoned Detroit television station where they once delighted a generation of children viewers, master puppeteer Mister Jolly re-incarnates his minion puppets for a final performance to settle an old score with Richard. The rare blood moon casts an ominous glow as Mr Jolly unleashes his puppets, lead by the infamous Handy Dandy to seek his revenge. Further complicating Richard’s dilemma is the unexpected arrival to the Studio of his son Steffen and his friends. The group become entangled in the thrilling pursuit by Mr Jolly and Handy Dandy through the annuls of the old studio building.
