Let's get this hi-def week off to a great start with three films getting 4K UHD releases and topping our list of the most wanted titles for the week of July 9, 2019.
First up is the home video debut of the Pet Sematary remake that is getting several different editions this week including a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Copy edition, a couple of retailer exclusive 2-disc sets, and a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Copy edition that contains both Pet Sematary movies.
Also getting a 4K UHD release this week is the 1995 Kevin Costner film Waterworld which is getting a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray edition that contains 2 cuts of Kevin Reynolds's film. No word on whether it will contain the long sought-after Ulysses cut, but we suspect not. {googleads}
Another film coming out in a glorious 4K UHD edition is Ang Lee's 2003 version of The Hulk that will include all the previously included extra materials in addition to an HDR 10 presentation of the film along with a DTS:X Audio Track.
An finally, the IMAX documentary presentation of Space Station is coming out in an IMAX Enhanced / 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Copy from Mill Creek Entertainment. Space in 4K. Are you kidding me? Count me in.
A couple of classic sci-fi films are getting releases this week including Joseph M. Newman's 1955 classic This Island Earth which gets a brand new 4K remaster from an interpositive from Scream Factory with a new interviews, commentaries, and other features. In addition. the 1961 Kaiju film Mothra is getting a spiffy new Steelbook Edition from Mill Creek Entertainment that promises to include both the Japanese and U.S. just of the film. Also on the disc will be the previously released audio commentary by authors and Japanese sci-fi historians Steve Ryfle and Ed Godziszewski.
