Opening with an effective aerial shot which shows just where Dr. Tristoam MacKenzie is heading, Beware The Boogeyman makes it clear that Silverdale Psychiatric Hospital is not to be messed with or taken lightly. It’s a small state-funded hospital for the criminally insane, but this place is full of large, large horrors.
Disturbed and strange. That’s the warning Dr. Moon gives MacKenzie upon her arrival. She shares some interesting cases, too. But that’s just the beginning as she’s warned of a shared delusion concerning the boogeyman.
Disturbing and full of solid locales, tight shots, and a strong sense of place and atmosphere, Beware The Boogeyman is a good offering for those who like shock endings.
Directed by Calvin Morie McCarthy, each of the shared delusions concerning the boogeyman become atmospheric backstories designed to draw us into the haunting atmosphere of this thriller. And they work to illustrate just how not crazy they are . . . maybe criminals, but certainly not crazy. 
As Dr. MacKenzie delves deeper into the unsettling files, she unravels a web of intrigue and horror that challenges her understanding of reality. With each revelation, the line between sanity and madness blurs, leading to a heart-stopping climax that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.
Starring Elissa Dowling, Airisa Durand, and Chynna Rae Shurts, the pressure on this low budget thriller builds thanks to the bizarre nature of each file mined as if it were a horror anthology which builds to something bigger. Something is definitely going on here, but will Dr. MacKenzie be able to figure it out before it is too late?
