Audience's were all ears this weekend as Disney's live action reimagining of its classic elephant tale, Dumbo flew straight to the top of the box office with a $45 million take that knocked Jordan Peele's Us from the top spot. The horror thriller managed another $33.6 million haul to bring its two-week total to a whopping $128 million.
The Marvel superhero action film Captain Marvel also did well in its fourth week of release with a $20.5 million total while the young adult film Five Feet Apart managed another $6.2 million while the christian drama film Unplanned rounded out the top five box office spots with a debut total of $6.1 million. {googleads}
Paramount's family-friendly Wonder Park took in nearly $5 million to finish in sixth place while Universal's How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World continued to perform strongly in seventh place with a total of $4.2 million.
The true story thriller Hotel Mumbai made a huge jump by moving up from 39th place last week to finish in the eighth slot with $3 million in receipts this week.
Tyler Perry's comedy A Madea Family Funeral dropped three slots to finish in ninth place this week with a $2.7 million take while Matthew McConaughey's comedy Beach Bum debuted poorly in the tenth slot with just $1.8 million take in on its opening weekend.
