Jeff Who Lives at Home - Movie TrailerFamily dysfunction gets another run through the humor mill, this time with slacker brothers, played by Jason Segal and Ed Helms, who try to get their lives and a bit of family business in order in Jeff Who Lives at Home. A trailer for the film was released today over at Apple.com, but you can also watch it below.

The film is directed by Jay and Mark Duplass who brought Cyrus, the royal queen mother of family dysfunction films, to our attention back in 2010. Having made a name for themselves with a pair of cheaply made but effective mumble-core independent films, The Puffy Chair and Baghead, The Duplass brothers are now looking to strike it big with a more mainstream comedy hit that also stars Susan Sarandon and Judy Greer. It's also worth mentioning the appearance of Rae Dawn Chong, daughter of Cheech and Chong's Tommy Chong, who also had a role in Cyrus.

Who knows if the independent spirit the Duplass' so brilliantly showed in  their earlier works will translate to a bigger budgeted film, but they seem to be on the right track with Jeff Who Lives at Home that displays equal amounts of heart and humor. And with two of the best comic actors currently in the business in Helms and Segal, we've got this one on our must-watch list.

Here's the synopsis: Dispatched from his basement room on an errand for his mother (Sarandon), slacker Jeff (Segel) might discover his destiny (finally) when he spends the day with his brother (Helms) as he tracks his possibly adulterous wife (Greer).
