And another friendly hi-def hello to our fellow blu-ray geeks. Welcome to the weekly look at our most wanted titles coming to blu-ray and/or 4K Ultra HD for the week of June 11, 2019.

This week on blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD is a good 'un with 5 releases getting the 4K UHD treatment and one of those tops our Most Wanted this week. Going big this week on the 4K front is Universal Studios with the release of Fast & Furious 8-Movie collection / 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital HD. Yes, you read that right. The eight movies in the Fast & Furious franchise are coming to 4K. And in a digibook edition nonetheless. Included in the set are The Fast and The Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, and The Fast of the Furious.

And not to be overshadowed by the F&F release is Disney/Buena Vista's release of Captain Marvel Cinematic Universe Edition / 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital HD that includes a couple of alternate versions, and a long list of extras, deleted scenes, and special features. Certainly a must-own for any hi-def lover. {googleads}

And debuting just in time for Father's Day is the release of Paramount's Michael Bay military thriller 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi which gets a 4K Ultra HD + Digital HD.

A couple of notable titles getting releases on the the blu-ray front come from Shout Factory who are putting out blu-ray editions of the classic horror tales Frankenstein Created Woman, The Entity and Piranha.

The Warner Archive Collection gets our attention in a big way this week with its release of Johnny Quest: The Complete Series Blu-ray (1964-1965) which comes in a three-disc set and features a brand spanking new remaster, some featurettes, fun facts and trivia, a Johnny Quest video handbook, and more. Captive State

Lionsgate is releasing on blu-ray Steven Kostanski's film Leprechaun Returns (2018), which Taylor Spreitler, Linden Porco, and Mark Holton. Included on the set is a featurette, some behind-the-scenes footage, and a still gallery.

In case you didn't realize, it has been forty years since Walter Hills' action film The Warriors graced theaters. And to commemorate the occasion, Paramount is releasing an FYE Exlusive Steelbook / 40th Anniversary / Blu-ray + DVD that comes with a collectible poster. And yes! the release contains the original theatrical cut, but it will be in SD on the DVD only.
