Columbia Pictures recently released a publicity statement confirming that Overbrook Entertainment - owned by James Lassiter, Ken Stovitz and Jada Pinkett and Will Smith - is teaming up with Jay-Z's Roc Nation record label to produce a remimagination of the classic Broadway musical, Annie as a venue to showcase the talents of Smith progeny, Willow.
Many Netflix pundits, critics and long-time subscribers have been waiting with baited breath for the results of the movie/TV content provider's fourth quarter earnings report. Not because we're geeky bean-counters looking to analyze the net income EPS as weighed against previous years' key metrics, but rather because many long-time subscribers are concerned with the recent direction the company has taken.

We became disgusted at this little bit of news that crossed our desk yesterday. The L.A. Times reports that Weinstein may re-edit The King's Speech. Yes, the King's Speech that just picked up 12 Oscar nominations.

The New York Post is reporting - ok, it's the Page Six gossip column of The New York Post, but still - that NBC is attempting to get Mark Zuckerberg to make a cameo appearance on its live late night television sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live alongside, get this, Jesse Eisenberg who portrayed the Facebook founder in the oscar-nominated film, The Social Network.

Buzz has been brewing lately about who will don the red cape and soar to the skies as The Man of Steel in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of the Superman franchise. Well, we can finally put the rumor mill to rest with word coming down today via Deadline that Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures have named British actor Henry Cavill as Clark Kent and Superman.

Looks like Javier Bardem's bad-to-the-bone depiction of Anton Chagur in 2007's No Country for Old Men was evil enough to get the attention of MGM execs as it's now being reported by Deadline that the Spanish actor's badass'ness' is wanted as the villain in the upcoming, as-of-yet-unnamed James Bond #23 film recently set for a November 9, 2012 release.

Dimension Films and director Wes Craven have revealed the official one-sheet poster for Scream 4 courtesy of Yahoo Movies.
