So maybe 3000 birth control pills are hard to come by. Code Red; however, doesn’t have a problem supplying us with the goods thanks to its handling of this all new high definition transfer of a cult classic.

Handjobs on a school bus? That shit never happened on bus #10. It does in this flick, though; bus 102 to be specific and I am jealous. Apparently, according to this skin flick, my lame ass missed out on a lot of action back in the day.

Nasty girls with real potential and a bunch of old men with “things” about tits; that’s what The Cheerleaders is all about. Honestly, the film works as long as you never tire of the sexual innuendos (and there are tons) and a storyline about how the girls in this flick decide to help their team out by kidnapping the other team and raping them repeatedly until they are too tired to play the game. Wait. what?

Conceived and directed by Paul Glicker (Running Scared), The Cheerleaders isn’t so much a movie as it is a collection of sex scenes, zippy lines, and a very frank sense of humor. It’s bold and damned funny, too. No one wonder that it was a hit.

From freshly-picked likes like “Who wants my cherry” and “You’ve got really cute balls” to dives like the Big Beaver Car Wash (where all the cheerleaders make it with whatever tall drink of water is available), this film is loaded with S-E-X. Dads, lock up your girls. They are going to learn about the human body by watching this madness.

It is also a drive-thru classic. Go figure. Starring Stephanie Fondue, Denise Dillaway, Jovita Bush, and Sandy Evans as Suzie, The Cheerleaders was wildly popular and, as a result, gave us Jack Hill’s The Swinging Cheerleaders, which is probably a better film but, oh my, once you hit play on this one, you just can’t stop. It’s outrageous and unforgettable with its high school debauchery as just about everyone involved in the school – even a bus driver – gets seduced by these girls.

In one key sequence, a young cheerleader gets initiated by showering in the boys’ locker room. You can guess what happens as a virtual dog pile of naked bodies go “all in” trying to tackle her. She escapes unharmed and, yes, she makes the team. These girls give it all for their high school team.

Filmed at Monta Vista High School, this “soft-core” flick made waves for a number of reasons. The sheer amount of flesh on display is one reason. The lusting after of cheerleaders is another. And you can imagine that the school officials, when they learned that the film was a fuck-a-minute skin flick, probably weren’t to pleased that this trashterpiece, in which a janitor has peepholes in all the showers, proudly advertised their school. I do believe heads would roll if that happened today.

The uncut version of The Cheerleaders is as randy as Dr. Spock with a cock. Who’s gonna score?! WE ARE!

Code Red presents this 1.78:1 framed HD remaster with a nice new sheen. The flesh on display is supple and has great detail. Textures, colors, and fabrics are natural. The results are quite good. Mostly shot in the natural light, the colors are strong. Black levels are even and edges are very fine indeed. There is a nice sheen to much of the movie, making it a totally memorable experience as this is the best the film has ever looked in its lifetime. The DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 is fine for this release.
